About EvenlightInfo about Evenlight.Net, and the mind behind the madness. Evenlight.Net began in late 2007 as an extension of the websites of Catherine Herold (me). Since I graduated from college with a degree in graphic design and one day hope to be a full time designer, I decided to turn Fire-Spark.Net (a name many of you may know) into a strictly professional site. So where did that leave my other web sites? Enter Evenlight.... I wanted to create another collection, but this time, have it focused strictly on things that I like and enjoy, such as games, design, etc. I was inspired to use evenlight when I had the idea of going with a twilight theme for a name. At first it was twilit, then twilite, then twilith, then I hit up Wikipedia and a thesaurus for some more words. Evenlight is actually a combination of evenglow and afterlight, both synonymns for the word "twilight". So there you have it. The brief history of Evenlight.Net in a nutshell.
About A Girl
I began creating websites back in...oh, I guess about 1998. Back then, I began my adventure in HTML with Yahoo! Page Builder. Big mistake. That was quite possibly the worst WYSIWYG editor ever made. Anyway, I learned some code from that and a friend, and by studying the code of other websites, I was able to finally understand HTML. I started creating many websites, always getting the most pleasure of coming up with the design for them. I used to code everything by hand in Notepad, until I got CuteHTML. It really helped me organize the code and see what I was working on. I attended Georgia Southern University and graduated in the spring of 2007 with a BFA in Graphic Design. I learned how to use Dreamweaver and Fireworks there, and now that is what I primarily use. I don't consider Dreamweaver a WYSIWYG editor, although it can very easily be used that way. I still take a hands on approach to coding, tweaking bits and pieces to get what I want as a final result.
